The manway does the whole job on this sheet

• Outlet: the field reads "1 Manway / Lid", and there is no bottom fitting size on this sheet at all. That is printed exactly as given, because a one-line field is not a pipe specification. Tell us the liquid, its temperature and the draw-off you want at order, and we confirm what this molding accepts and in what material before anything is drilled.
• Listed opening: an 18 inch threaded, vented manway at 55 inches. On a tank this size an eighteen inch opening is generous, and at shoulder height it is genuinely usable: a fill line, a vent, a probe and a cleaning wand all go through it and a person can see the whole inside floor from the rim with a light.
• Reaching it: a step or a short platform ladder, tied off and leaning on structure rather than on the shell. Nothing about this tank requires fixed access, which is most of its appeal.
• Fill and vent: a dip tube to the floor so the stream does not splash the headspace, the vent run outdoors on anything that fumes, and the vent sized to the delivery pump. Service limit: 140 F / 60 C. Warranty: 3 year.

Because the whole interior is visible from the rim, this is the shell where inspection is cheap and there is no excuse for skipping it: a light on the band of wall above the liquid line, a look at the floor for sediment, a look at the threads and the gasket seat, the date on the log, and the cover threaded properly shut afterwards so vapour stays in and rain stays out. That matters more on a cross-linked tank bought for warm duty than on a cool one, because heat works on the headspace first. Below the shell, anything plumbed at the base is carried on its own support off the pad with a flexible connector to hard pipe, since a warm run moves and a rigid one puts that movement into the wall. Label the wall with the one liquid inside, and where the site freezes, protect the base piping and the first valve rather than the body.

Small-batch chemistry and a tank you can actually inspect
