Why the second wall is the reason for the purchase

Sodium hypochlorite is a chemical many water and wastewater plants store in bulk, and it is hard on tanks: it is dense, it gives off gas as it ages, and it degrades in light and heat. Snyder's sodium hypochlorite Captor is the version of its double wall tank set up for that duty, in an opaque white resin that keeps light off the contents, with the 1.9 rating that covers commercial bleach at the strength it arrives. The second wall replaces a separate containment basin for many sites: the tank and its containment arrive as one piece and sit on one pad, which is the whole argument for a double wall over a tank in a tray. The pad under a 102 inch tank carries up to 39,615 lb of contents plus the 1,100 lb tank and has to be flat and continuous under the whole base.

Openings and what to check before you buy

1. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top. Bleach off-gasses, so the vent matters; keep it clear and route it where the gas cannot reach people or steel.
2. Fittings. No outlet or inlet fitting size is listed for this tank. Fittings on a double wall tank pass through both walls and are specified with the tank, so tell us the fill, suction and drain sizes when you order and we will confirm what Snyder supplies.
3. Rating. 1.9 specific gravity, 15.87 lb per gallon maximum, 120 F. Bleach can arrive warm in summer; check the temperature it arrives at, not just the room.
4. Containment. The outer wall is the containment. Confirm with your inspector that the double wall satisfies your plan before you also build a basin.

You need a forklift or a crane rated for the weight at the receiving end.
