Where it goes

A 3,000 gallon acid tank is a common step up from totes to bulk: a treatment plant, a farm chemical dealer, a finishing shop or a process line that wants bulk deliveries without a bulk-plant footprint. At 142 inches tall it fits under many building roofs and canopies, and the 102 inch circle fits along a wall. What to check before you buy

1. Pad. Near twenty-four tons at the full rating, on a 102 inch circle. Build a designed concrete slab; our guide to concrete pad sizing for above ground polyethylene tanks sets out the framework.
2. Delivery point. Put the tank where the delivery truck's hose reaches the fill without crossing a walkway.
3. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top for the fill, a level instrument and inspection. Opaque white hides the level, so plan a gauge.
4. Fittings. No factory outlet is listed. Tell us the outlet and instrument connections before the order; on a Captor they go through both walls and are installed at the factory.
