The Snyder Industries 3000 gallon ASTM XLPE Black Captor double wall tank, part number 5590000N48, is a contained storage tank in black crosslinked linear polyethylene. Captor is Snyder's name for a tank moulded inside a second wall, so a leak from the inner tank stays inside the outer one. It is 102 inches in diameter and 142 inches tall, weighs 1,900 lb empty, and has an 18 inch threaded vented manway on top. Snyder rates the wall for liquids up to 1.9 specific gravity and sets the service limit at 140 F (60 C). The tank carries a 3 year warranty. 3,000 gallons of water weighs 25,020 lb; at the full 1.9 rating the contents can reach 47,538 lb.

Three choices in one part number
This tank answers three questions at once. The 1.9 specific gravity rating means a liquid up to 1.9 times the weight of water is within the wall's rating. The black wall keeps light off the contents, which protects light-sensitive products and stops algae if it ever holds water. The crosslinked resin carries a 140 F service limit, and that is what makes black workable on an open yard in a warm state, where a dark tank in afternoon sun runs hot. Put together, this is the version a treatment plant, a mine, a chemical distributor or a large farm operation picks for an outdoor tank that has to hold a dense product through a southern summer. The Captor outer wall means containment comes with the tank, with no bund to pour around it. Pad, clearance and the usable volume
The base must carry the loaded tank on a flat, continuous, level surface under the whole 102 inch circle, with no rails and no packing at one edge. At 142 inches tall, measure the clear height and the doorway on the route before the truck is booked, and plan how the manway is reached. What to confirm before you buy
- Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on the inner tank, wide enough for a fill hose, a transmitter and a look inside.
- Outlet. Our page lists the manway, not the outlet. Tell us the draw-off size and height and we will confirm with Snyder what the tank ships with.
