The tank that fits where nothing else does

Every plant has a strip of floor nobody can use: behind a door, beside a control cabinet, between a pump skid and a wall. A 35 inch circle goes in those places. The duty that follows is a standing supply for a metering or transfer pump that runs continuously and is topped up in small amounts: a dosing point at a water or wastewater plant, an additive tank on a production line, a dark-stored solution on a spray or service skid. At 80 inches the lid is over head height, so the fill gets a permanent line landed at the manway rather than a driver on a ladder. The height buys liquid standing above the suction, which keeps a pump flooded deep into the load, and it costs something real on the ground: 2,502 lb of water, or up to 4,754 lb at the rating, bearing on a 35 inch circle, the highest bearing pressure per square foot in this family. The slab is engineered per our concrete pad sizing guide, level and in full contact, inside a berm sized to the tank wherever the liquid is regulated. Then restrain it: 80 inches of empty tank at 65 lb on a narrow base is the easiest thing on the pad to tip, so it is banded to structure in its upper third before the first fill.

Openings and what to confirm before you buy

1. Outlet. Snyder's listing for this tank carries an outlet entry of 6.5 with no unit and no fitting type named, so we do not read it as a pipe size. Name the liquid and the draw-off you need at order and we will confirm with Snyder what this moulding accepts before anything is cut.
2. Pump. Put it below the tank floor and as close to it as the layout allows. The standing column is what keeps a metering or transfer pump flooded instead of cavitating at half a tank.
3. Run-dry protection. A low-level switch wired to stop the pump above the floor; a narrow tank loses its last inches quickly.
4. Manway. One 18 inch threaded vented manway at 80 inches, above head height. Land a permanent fill line at the lid, run a dip tube to the floor so a stream does not free-fall and foam, and vent outdoors on anything that fumes with the vent sized to the pump doing the filling.

Other 300s, and the 290 and 330 beside them

Buy this one when the lightest tank that fills the space is the answer, which matters when it has to be carried through a doorway and stood up where a forklift cannot go. Step off the footprint and the shape changes: the 290 gallon heavy duty tank 1013000C26 gives up a few gallons for a lower shell, and the 330 gallon heavy duty tank 1008200C26 spreads more volume over a wide, low footprint for a room with floor and no height.

Shipping and receiving

The tank ships LTL at freight class 300 from Snyder's plant at Marked Tree, AR, 35 by 35 by 80 inches on a pallet at 65 lb. The freight cost estimator gives the lane cost to your ZIP. At the tailgate, check the part number against 1630000N48 on the bill of lading, walk the wall and the manway threads for transit damage before signing, and fill it with water the first time before it carries anything else. Carry the first valve on its own support off the pad with a flexible connector to hard pipe, and put freeze protection on that piping, not the body.
