The N42 is the cross-linked twin for hypochlorite and the other oxidizers. On the same 36 inch base, the 1008100N45 is 40 gallons smaller and 8 inches shorter; the 1011200C26 adds 10 gallons at 82 inches on a base an inch narrower. Openings, sampling and labels
- Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway; fill by hose or tote pump down a dip tube, and vent to the outside if the liquid fumes.

Three practices make a small chemical tank a safe one. Choose the level sender for the chemical with the level gauge selection guide; a low-level float switch keeps the pump from running dry. Setting it up beside the pump
Put the tank on its spill pallet at the pump, with the outlet facing the pump and the manway facing the operator. The dosing pump mounts below the outlet so it primes by gravity, with a union and a check valve in the suction line and a calibration column or a sight tube on it so the operator can check the feed rate without opening the tank. Bring the fill in through the manway by hose from the tote pump with a dip tube to the floor, and run the vent line to the outside or a scrubber; the off-gas from an open chemical tank is what corrodes the electrical gear beside it. A photo of the finished setup goes in the log, because the next person to touch it will not be the one who built it.
Turnover and changeover
Size the refill schedule so the tank turns over before the chemical degrades; hypochlorite in particular is bought in small lots often, and a tank that sits for a season wastes chlorine. At changeover the wide manway pays for itself: drain through the outlet, rinse through the manway with a wand, drain again, and let it dry before the new fill, because residue from the last product is the usual cause of a cloudy first batch. Keep the manway closed against vapor loss and the tank out of direct sun where the chemical is light-sensitive, and log each fill with its date and strength.
