The Snyder Industries 335 Gallon HDLPE Chemical Injection Tank is purpose-built for bulk chemical storage and metering, molded in High Density Linear Polyethylene (HDLPE) and rated to a specific gravity of 1.9 - heavy enough to hold dense acids and concentrated solutions that would overload a standard 1.5 SG water tank. It measures 85 inches tall on a 54 by 89 inch footprint, holds 335 gallons, and comes with 3" NPT and 2" NPT ports molded into the tank for fill, drain, suction, or injection-line connections. The compatibility table below also covers DEF at 32.5% and urea solution at 50% with 316SS or PP wetted hardware, so if you have been searching for a white Snyder chemical tank in HDLPE for diesel exhaust fluid or another concentrated chemistry, this is the model built for that duty.

Will it work for your application?

This is a 1.9 specific-gravity vessel, which is the spec that matters most for chemical service. At 335 gallons of plain water the contents weigh roughly 2,794 lb; at the tank's maximum rated specific gravity the contents can reach about 5,308 lb - nearly double the water weight on the same shell - so size your pad, saddle, or containment to carry the loaded weight, not the empty tank. The 54 by 89 inch footprint and 85-inch height drive your clearance and access planning, so confirm door and overhead room before delivery. The molded 3" and 2" NPT outlets are your connection points for gravity drain, pump suction, and injection plumbing; the bulkhead fittings, valves, and gaskets that thread into them are selected per chemical and supplied separately. See the technical drawing on this page for fitting placement, and use the Tank Sizing Calculator and Tank Sizing Guide to match capacity and turnover to your dosing rate.

Chemical compatibility

This tank is molded in HDLPE and rated to 1.9 specific gravity. Compatibility always depends on chemical, concentration, and temperature, so verify against the OEM chemical-resistance chart for your exact conditions before committing the tank to service - and match your fitting and gasket materials to the chemical, not just the tank. The molded NPT ports are the connection points; the fitting and gasket materials below are the recommended starting point for each chemical at the concentration shown, and they are what you buy separately (for example, CPVC and Viton for 98% sulfuric, 316SS and EPDM for DEF):

Browse the full Chemical Compatibility Database for any chemical not listed here, and confirm the OEM chart for your concentration and temperature before ordering fittings.

The mistake to avoid

The costly error on a dense-chemical injection tank is under-rating the load. People specify by gallons and forget the specific gravity: at 1.9 SG a full tank can weigh more than 5,300 lb - roughly twice the water weight - so a pad or stand sized for water can fail under sulfuric or phosphoric acid. Match the tank's 1.9 rating to your chemical's specific gravity, and do not let the wrong material touch the chemical: on aggressive oxidizers like sodium hypochlorite, hydrogen peroxide, and sulfuric acid, the gasket and fitting choice (Viton or CPVC, not standard EPDM or stainless) is what keeps the connection from leaking. For instrumentation, our guide to tank level gauge selection for chemical service and the tank labeling and signage compliance guide cover what regulators expect on a bulk chemical install; if you need full secondary containment, compare the Snyder Captor Plus 110% containment against UL-142/SPCC requirements.
