Snyder Industries 4000 Gallon Black Vertical Storage Tank

Where it goes

Snyder moulds this shell in four versions, two colours and two wall grades, and this is the black standard 1.5 wall: the one for stored water that must not grow algae, for liquid fertilizer, and for a treatment chemical that light degrades. At ten and a half feet it stands under the roof of a steel building or a tall shed as well as on an open pad. The buyers are growers, co-ops and small utilities in the lane out of Arkansas, and plants that need rinse or process water at hand. The pad is the structural question: a rotationally moulded tank bears on its whole floor, so the 102 inch circle carries all 33,360 lb of water and more at the rating. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting low in the wall. Three inches fills a sprayer or a nurse trailer fast and keeps a transfer pump flooded. Fit a flexible connector to hard pipe and carry the first valve on a support off the pad.
2. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top, for the fill hose, a float and a brush. Keep the vent clear; the pump draws air through it.
3. Liquid and temperature. Polyethylene handles water, most fertilizers and many common chemicals to 120 F. Check anything aggressive with us before the order; a liquid heavier than 1.5 times water needs the heavy duty wall of this shell, not this tank.

Unload with a loader with long forks and slings under the body or a crane, never through the manway, onto the cured pad, and strap it down.
