Where it goes

At 104 inches this tank stands in rooms the taller tanks of its volume will not enter: under the eave of a pole barn, inside a standard steel building beside the door, under a shade structure at a nursery, in a plant utility room. The buyers are frost protection and irrigation reserves, wash and process water at a food plant, rainwater and reuse collection, and bulk fertilizer at a grower who takes a tanker at a time. The price of the low shape is floor. A rotationally moulded tank bears on its whole floor, so the 120 inch circle carries all 35,862 lb of water and more at the rating, and a wide tank on a pad with one low corner loads that corner. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting low in the wall. A low tank has less head than a tall one at the same volume, so put the pump close and low with a short straight suction. Fit a flexible connector to hard pipe and support the first valve off the pad.
2. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top, reached from a step rather than a platform at this height. Wide enough for a fill hose, a float and cleaning. Keep the vent clear.
3. Liquid and temperature. Polyethylene handles water, most fertilizers and many common chemicals to 120 F; ask us about anything aggressive before you order. Where a second wall is required, the double wall freeboard guide works out the usable volume.
