Where it goes

Choose the spot, then the colour, and on an outdoor pad the colour is settled for you: an open yard, a south-facing pad, a compound with no roof. At 69 inches the top is just above head height, so the fill line and the vent above the manway need ceiling room indoors, and the 53 inch base will not pass a standard door leaf, so measure the route in. Liquids that fade, ferment or grow in the light: fertilizer or micronutrient solution on a farm pad, feed or supplement solution at a dairy, a dye or pigment concentrate, reclaimed water that must stay clear of algae, and any outdoor chemical inventory where sun would otherwise work on a pale shell all season. Openings and fittings

1. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway at 69 inches, just above head height. It wants a permanent fill connection at the rim and a fixed step for whoever opens it, because an opening that is awkward to reach is an opening that gets left unthreaded. Fill through a dip tube to the floor.
2. Outlet. Name the liquid and the draw-off arrangement you want when you order and we will confirm what this tank accepts at the base and in what material before anything is drilled. Support the first valve on its own with a flexible connector to hard pipe.
