The Snyder Industries 500 gallon plastic gravity feed tank system, part number 5780100N97208, is a white high density linear polyethylene tank on its stand, 60 inches long, 66 inches wide and 101 inches tall as a system, weighing 305 lb empty. Why the height is the point
A gravity feed system puts the tank up on a stand so the liquid runs out under its own head, with no pump, no power and nothing to fail at the point of use. That is why it is 101 inches tall for a 500 gallon volume: the stand is doing the work. The height is also the first thing to check against the building. The lid sits at the top of a 101 inch system, so you need ceiling clearance above that to fill and inspect, and a 66 inch wide stand needs a flat, level floor or pad that takes the full load on its feet. What to check before you buy
- The outlet. No outlet size is listed for this system. The dispensing point is the whole purpose of a gravity feed tank, so tell us the hose or valve you plan to hang on it and we will confirm what Snyder supplies with the system before it ships.
- The lid. 18 inches. Wide enough to fill from a drum pump or a hose and to see the level without a gauge.
- Head height. The flow you get from a gravity feed depends on how far the liquid surface sits above the point of use; the drawing gives the outlet height so you can plan the run.
- Rating. 1.9 specific gravity and 120 F. Oils and water are well inside it.
