The choice between the first two rows is a floor plan decision and nothing else. SII-5760102N95704 holds 360 gallons and is described on the sheet the same way this tank is, as a used oil containment tank with a level gauge, but it does it in a 53 by 53 inch square standing 63 inches tall at 234 pounds: wider on the floor and ten inches shorter. This one holds 405 gallons in a tighter 48 by 48 inch square and takes the extra volume upward to 73 inches at 250 pounds. So the reason to buy this one is that it holds more oil in less floor, and the reason to buy the other is a low ceiling or a shelf overhead. In a working bay, floor area is usually the scarcer thing, which is why the taller square tends to win. The third row is a different product and is named as the sheet names it: SII-5780100N97208 is a 500 gallon gravity feed tank system, 60 by 66 by 101 inches at 305 pounds. That is a feed system rather than a waste collection tank, it is substantially bigger in every dimension, and nothing about this page's description applies to it. What none of these three sheets publishes is a stand load, a mounting detail or a burner or heater arrangement, so nothing of that sort is claimed for any of them here.

A 2 inch inlet at the top, an 18 inch lid, and no outlet on the sheet

• The way in: a 2 inch inlet, which is the connection a drain line, a funnel station or a pumped return from a bay comes into. Run the line to it with a fall the whole way, support it off the wall or a stand rather than off the tank, and break the last joint with a flexible connector so nothing rigid is loading the polyethylene.
• The lid: an 18 inch opening on top of a tank that stands 73 inches tall, so it is above chest height for most people. And agree the containment before the first drop goes in: a yellow tank standing on bare concrete in a bay is not containment, whatever colour it is, and the arrangement underneath it should be decided with whoever collects the oil and whoever inspects the site.
