Snyder Industries 5000 Gallon Sodium Hypochlorite (UV) Double Wall Tank

Where it goes

This is contained bulk storage for a disinfection program: a water plant, a wastewater plant, a large industrial or institutional system that takes hypochlorite by the truckload. The name is Snyder's; the information we hold gives no concentration limit, so tell us the strength you receive and we will confirm the tank is right for it before you order. The opaque wall keeps light off the contents, and the 120 F limit means ambient storage.

Openings, and what to confirm before you buy

1. Manway. One 18 inch threaded vented manway on top. Hypochlorite gives off gas as it ages, so the vent must never be blanked off.
2. Outlet and fill. No outlet, fill connection or fitting is listed on this product. Tell us the truck fill, the feed pump suction size and the valves, and we will confirm with Snyder what this part number carries.
3. The liquid. Give us the product and strength and check it in our chemical compatibility guide; gaskets and valves have to suit it too.
4. The space between the walls. No leak detection is listed with the tank. Specify it separately and inspect on a written schedule. Snyder's drawing is linked under Technical Drawing on this page.

Shipping and receiving

The tank ships at freight class 250 from Snyder's Lincoln, Nebraska plant, 102 by 102 by 216 inches at 4,300 lb. It travels on its side, and a load this size may be routed to us by phone rather than priced online. Plan the route, the crane and the set position before it ships, and lift only as Snyder's handling instructions direct, never by the manway. Check the bill of lading against 5630000N52 at the tailgate. Set it plumb on the cured slab, fill it with water, hold the 41,700 lb load while you check the base and the manway seal, then drain, dry and look between the walls before the first delivery.
