Two low 550s, and how to pick one

Connections on a low tank

• Outlet: 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, at the base; a flexible connector to hard pipe, the valve supported off the pad, and the reducer to the pump's suction at the pump.
• Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway, 47 inches up, opened from the floor; fill from a tote or a truck through a dip tube, and vent outside on anything that fumes.
• Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.

With under four feet of liquid above the outlet the pump sits at floor level and primes by gravity, and a low-level float shuts it off before it draws air. A tank this low is rinsed from the rim at a chemical change, which the tall ones cannot offer. Keep the manway closed against vapor loss, and label the one chemical the tank holds.
