A compact heavy wall for a dense liquid

At 140 inches tall on a 120 inch base, this is a squat tank for its volume. It fits under many shed roofs and canopies, the manway is reachable from a short fixed ladder, and the low centre of gravity makes it steadier on its pad than a tall tank. The 1.9 wall is the reason to buy this part number: liquid fertilizer concentrates, brine, and the heavier treatment and process chemicals that polyethylene handles. At the rating, up to 98,245 lb rests on the 120 inch circle, so the slab must be level and in full contact with the tank floor; work it out with our concrete pad sizing guide, and put containment around it where the liquid is regulated. At 1,678 lb empty it still needs anchors before the first fill. The black wall blocks light from the contents, which helps liquids that degrade in the sun, and hides the level, so fit a gauge.

What to check before you buy

1. The liquid. Specific gravity 1.9 or less and service temperature at or below 120 F. Look up the chemistry in our chemical compatibility guide; call us for anything not listed.
2. The outlet. Only the manway is listed. Tell us the liquid and the pipe size and we will confirm a bottom fitting and its material before anything is drilled. A dense liquid loads the base fitting hardest, so support the valve and use a flexible connector.
3. The manway. 18 inch, threaded and vented. Bring the fill in through it and run the vent where any fumes can go safely.
