Rural water storage that keeps clean

A 6,600 gallon black tank is a common size for a property on a low yield well: the pump fills the tank slowly all day, and the house, the stock troughs or the drip lines draw from the tank at the rate they need. What to check before you buy

1. The size. Work out the storage you need between refills with the tank sizing calculator and the tank sizing guide.
2. The outlet. The manway is the only opening listed for this tank. Tell us the pipe size and what the tank supplies and we will confirm the outlet fitting before anything is drilled. Use a flexible connector between the fitting and the pipe run.
3. The level. You cannot see the water line through black polyethylene. A float gauge or a pump controller with a level switch solves it.
