The Snyder Industries WG41R is a 1000-gallon vertical polyethylene water storage tank molded in green. It stands 65 inches tall on a 72 x 72 inch footprint, which makes it wider than it is tall: a squat 1000-gallon build with a low center of gravity that sits more forgiving on the pad and under wind loading than a tall, narrow tank of the same volume. It fits a compact pad while holding a full working volume for rainwater capture, well-buffer storage, irrigation, and rural fire-reserve duty. If you are searching for a 1000 gallon vertical water storage tank that ships from the West Coast, this is the Snyder unit built at their Merced, California plant.

Will it work for your site

This tank carries a 1.0 specific-gravity rating, which means it is engineered for water and water-weight contents, not heavier chemical solutions. Filled to capacity, the water alone weighs 8,340 pounds, and that 8,340-pound rated contents load is what your foundation has to carry. Plan a level, continuously supported pad rated for that mass before you fill. Our concrete pad sizing guide walks through the ACI 360R-10 framework for above-ground poly tanks, and the Tank Sizing Calculator and Tank Sizing Guide help you confirm 1000 gallons is the right volume for your draw and refill cycle.

Fittings and access

The tank comes configured with four penetrations you can lay out ahead of delivery. On top is an 18-inch polyethylene manway assembly with an integral 4-inch vent and a tie feature: the 4-inch vent is the atmospheric relief path that lets air move in and out as fast as water fills and drains, and the tie point secures the lid. In the wall you get two polypropylene bulkhead fittings, one 1-1/2-inch and one 2-inch, both sealed with EPDM gaskets, plus a separate flange connection you can dedicate to a level gauge, a larger-diameter line, or an accessory port. The EPDM elastomer on both bulkheads is rated for water and ambient service, so the seal stack matches the 1.0 SG water positioning at the gasket level, not just at the wall. See the technical drawing on this page for the exact fitting positions and elevations, confirm your inlet and outlet sizes match those bulkhead ports, and use full-flow, supported connections at the base where the standing water column puts the most pressure.

One mistake to avoid

Because this is a 1.0 SG water tank, do not press it into service for a denser liquid. If your contents are heavier than water, you need a tank rated to a higher specific gravity, and forcing a fertilizer or chemical solution into a water-rated wall shortens its life. For water duty, the other common miss is skipping a proper acceptance fill. Our hydrostatic test methodology guide covers the fill discipline, pad-settlement monitoring, and fitting leak checks that catch problems before the tank is in full service. For rural fire-reserve use, the fire-water reservoir design guide and the water reuse topology guide cover fire-standby and grey-water/rainwater aggregation setups.
