750 gallons through a 48 inch gap
The Snyder 32517 is a black 750 gallon vertical water tank that is 48 inches across and 106 inches tall, and weighs 117 pounds empty. The 48 inch diameter is the point: it goes through a standard double door, stands in the corner of a garage or a well house, and rides in a pickup bed lying down. Black polyethylene keeps light out of the water, and the tank is rated for a specific gravity of 1.0, so water and liquids no heavier than water.

A tall tank on a small base
Tall and narrow is convenient until the tank is full and the wind is up, so the 32517 should be strapped to a wall or a post if it lives outdoors. Full, it puts 6,255 pounds on a 48 inch circle: a compacted, level pad or a slab, never a soft spot. The concrete pad sizing guide covers the slab for a small footprint carrying a heavy point load. If 750 gallons is a guess, the tank sizing calculator will turn a household count or a herd into a number.
Same diameter, three heights
Snyder makes several tanks on or near a 48 inch base, and the 32517 sits in the middle of them.
| Part | Gallons | Diameter x height | Empty weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| 32517 (this tank, black) | 750 | 48 x 106 in | 117 lb |
| 32519, green | 750 | 48 x 106 in | 117 lb |
| WB34 | 550 | 48 x 77 in | 140 lb |
| 32523 | 1,000 | 60 x 89 in | 157 lb |
Two things stand out. The WB34 holds 200 gallons less and yet weighs 23 pounds more, because it is a heavier-wall tank; if the water is the only thing that matters, the 32517 is the lighter and taller answer. And the 32523 buys 250 more gallons by going to a 60 inch diameter and dropping 17 inches of height, which is the tank to choose when the doorway is wide but the ceiling is not.

Ports and access
- Inlet: 1-1/2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting.
- Outlet: 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the bottom of the wall.
- Access: 20 inch threaded, vented manway; keep the vent clear so a pump cannot pull the wall in.
- Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.
The outlet is large for a tank this size, which is good news for a booster pump or a gravity feed to a garden. A black wall hides the water level, so the level gauge selection guide is worth a read; a clear sight tube teed off the outlet is the usual fix.
Where a 750 gallon tank lands
Seven hundred and fifty gallons is a rainwater cistern for a house, a pressure-tank buffer for a slow well, or the water supply for a remote cabin. The tank sizing guide shows how far that goes at a given daily draw. Several of these plumbed together make a reuse train that collects roof water and condensate, per the industrial water reuse tank topology article, and a bank of them is the starting point for a small private fire reserve in the fire-water reservoir design guide.
Freight for a tank two people can carry
At 48 inches across, the 32517 ships as standard LTL freight (NMFC 156600-02), which is far cheaper than the oversize rates the wide tanks pay; quote it for your ZIP with the freight cost estimator. The listed price is before freight. It arrives on a pallet, 117 pounds, and two people walk it in. Fill it in stages the first time and check both bulkhead fittings for weeping as the hydrostatic test methodology guide lays out.
