The green 1,000 gallon tank, 45 pounds heavier than the black one
The Snyder 32525 is the green version of the 60 inch 1,000 gallon vertical tank: 60 inches across, 89 inches tall, polyethylene, 202 pounds empty. The black 32523 from the same mold weighs 157 pounds, so the green tank carries 45 more pounds of wall. Green is the conventional choice for a potable water tank that stands in the open, and the heavier wall is what you want for a tank that will stay full in the sun. It has the 20 inch threaded vented manway, a 1-1/2 inch polypropylene inlet and a 2 inch polypropylene outlet, and a 1.0 specific gravity rating: water only.

Green or black
Both colors block light well enough to keep algae down. Green is chosen for water that people drink, because the color is a visual signal in a yard full of black chemical and septic tanks, and because a green tank in the landscape draws less attention than a black one. The black tank is the lighter, less expensive shell and runs cooler in some climates because it does not carry the extra resin. If the water is for stock, irrigation or fire, black is the practical choice; for a household supply in view of the house, most people choose green.
The 1,000 gallon shapes
| Part | Gallons | Diameter x height | Empty weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| 32517 | 750 | 48 x 106 in | 117 lb |
| 32523, black | 1,000 | 60 x 89 in | 157 lb |
| 32525 (this tank) | 1,000 | 60 x 89 in | 202 lb |
| WB41R | 1,000 | 72 x 65 in | 160 lb |
| WG41R, green | 1,000 | 72 x 65 in | 205 lb |
| WB42 | 1,100 | 86 x 53 in | 210 lb |
The green WG41R is the same idea on a 72 inch floor at 65 inches tall, 3 pounds heavier than this tank, for a site with an 8 foot ceiling. The 60 inch shape here is for saving floor. Either way the pad has to carry 8,340 pounds of water in full contact with the whole floor, and on the narrower tank that load sits higher, so a level base matters more; the concrete pad sizing guide covers the ACI 360R-10 method.

On top and at the bottom
- 20 inch threaded, vented manway: large enough to reach in, and the vent is what lets the tank breathe as a pump draws it down.
- 1-1/2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead inlet for a float valve or fill line.
- 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead outlet; valve, union, then pump.
- Service limit 120 F / 48 C.
A sight tube on the outlet is the simplest level gauge on an opaque tank; for an automated system the level gauge selection guide compares the sensor types.
Where a green 1,000 gallon tank goes
Beside a house on a well that recovers slowly, under a downspout as a rainwater store, and as the first block of a private fire reserve, which the fire-water reservoir design guide sizes against NFPA 22. In a reuse system it collects ahead of treatment, per the industrial water reuse topology guide. Confirm the gallons against your draw with the tank sizing calculator and the tank sizing guide.
Freight and setting it
LTL freight, NMFC 156600-02, 202 pounds crated at 60 by 60 by 89 inches; the freight cost estimator quotes your ZIP, and the listed price is before freight. Two people can walk it off a liftgate. Set it, plumb it, then fill it in stages while watching the pad and the fittings, as the hydrostatic test methodology guide describes.
