Why black, and where a 5300 gallon tank goes
A black wall blocks the sunlight that grows algae in stored water and breaks down some liquids, so black is the usual choice for outdoor water storage that sits for weeks: livestock and ranch water, a fire reserve for a rural property, irrigation and reuse water, a holding tank on a remote site. You give up seeing the level through the wall, so plan a float gauge, a sight tube on the outlet line or a level sensor through the manway. - Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting. Your valve threads into it; support the valve and the first length of pipe so the tank wall carries liquid, not hardware.
- Manway. 18 inch, threaded and vented, for filling, a level float and inspection.
- Temperature. If the liquid goes in warm or the tank is for drinking water, tell us before you order and we will check with Snyder.
