The Enduraplas 250 Gallon Green Horizontal Sump Bottom Leg Tank ships with its own steel frame and is built for hauling - it sits on a trailer or skid and moves liquid where the work is. The poly tank holds 250 gallons, measures 38 in. high by 47 in. wide by 55 in. long, and rides on a 47.0 x 55.0 in. footprint. The sump bottom drains low so you can pull a load down close to empty, which is exactly what you want on a horizontal leg tank that pulls double duty for water and for chemical transfer.
Will it handle your load?
This is a 1.9 specific gravity tank, so the wall is already rated for dense liquids, not just water - that 1.9 rating is the heavy-duty ceiling for this body, so there is no tougher step-up tank to chase for ag chemical or brine service. Filled with water the tank-and-contents weight is about 2,085 lbs; at its full 1.9 SG rating the tank carries up to roughly 3,962 lbs of contents. Size your trailer, hitch, and tow vehicle to the heavier number if you plan to haul anything denser than water - a 250-gallon load of fertilizer or brine weighs far more than 250 gallons of water, and that is the figure that decides axle rating and tongue weight. The 38 in. height sits low against the 55 in. length, which keeps the loaded center of gravity down where you want it on a hauled horizontal leg tank. If you are matching tank capacity to a job, the Tank Sizing Calculator and Tank Sizing Guide walk you through it. For DOT classification on farm fleet hauling, our guides on applicator and leg tanks for fertilizer and the 49 CFR 173.5 agricultural exemption cover non-roadable trailer scope.
Chemical compatibility
The tank is molded polyethylene with a 1.9 SG rating. The resin is recorded as HDLPE with a question mark, so confirm HDLPE versus XLPE with us before you put it into any chemical service - cross-linked and linear poly do not handle the same chemistries, and that one detail is the most common mistake on a tank like this. Until that resin is confirmed, treat the list below as candidate chemistries, not a guarantee. Each entry is workable in a 1.9 SG poly body when you match the fitting and gasket materials and stay at the listed concentration and temperature; always verify against the OEM chemical-resistance chart, which is concentration- and temperature-specific. Note that those fittings and gaskets are materials you supply - PVC, PP, CPVC, or 316 stainless fittings and EPDM, Viton, or Aflas gaskets are buyer-sourced, not included with the tank.
EPDM-gasket service with PVC or PP fittings covers acetic acid (60%), aluminum sulfate (50%), calcium chloride (40%), ethylene glycol (100%), ferric chloride (50%), ferric sulfate (60%), ferrous sulfate (20%), magnesium chloride (30%), polyaluminum chloride, potassium carbonate (50%), potassium hydroxide (saturated), sodium bisulfate, sodium bisulfite, sodium carbonate (30%), and sodium thiosulfate (40%). Aggressive acids step up to Viton gaskets: hydrochloric acid (37%, PVC), hydrofluoric acid (48%, PP/PVC), hydrofluosilicic acid (26%, PP/PVC), hydrogen peroxide (50%, PVC), phosphoric acid (85%, PVC), sodium hypochlorite (under 16.5%, PVC), and sulfuric acid (98%, CPVC). DEF (32.5%) calls for 316 stainless fittings on EPDM, and peracetic acid (30%) needs both 316 stainless fittings and an Aflas gasket - Aflas is the unusual spec there, so do not substitute a standard gasket. Glycols and phosphates round it out - propylene glycol and zinc orthophosphate on PP/316SS, plus urea solution (50%, PP/PVC) and ozonated water (up to 10 PPM, PVC). See the full chemical compatibility reference, and if your blend stratifies in storage, read up on fertilizer-blend tank stratification before the spreader runs off spec.
