The Enduraplas 7011 Gallon Black Cone Bottom Tank is a full-drain bulk vessel built for industrial chemical storage where the contents need to gravity-empty completely. Rated at a 1.9 specific gravity - the highest rating in this pack - it is one of the heaviest-duty cone bottom tanks in the Enduraplas line, with a 144 in by 144 in footprint and a 141 in overall height. The black polyethylene body resists UV degradation outdoors and blocks light transmission to limit algae and photo-sensitive reactions inside the tank. If you are sizing a cone bottom tank for a treatment skid, a mixing batch, or bulk chemical feed, this 7011-gallon cone tank sits at the large end of the range.

Will it work for your application?

Confirm the math before you commit. Filled with water, this tank carries roughly 58,472 lb. Because it is rated to 1.9 specific gravity, the maximum rated contents weight climbs to about 111,096 lb at full fill with a dense liquid - that load drives the stand, anchor, and foundation engineering, so design to the rated figure, not the water figure. A 1.9 SG rating is the top of the ladder here, so for dense reagents like ferric chloride, concentrated sulfuric acid, or saturated potassium hydroxide you do not need to look for a higher-rated vessel. A cone bottom tank cannot stand on its own; it requires a matching steel or poly stand sized to the cone angle and tank diameter. Use the Tank Sizing Calculator to check the contents weight against your liquid, review the Tank Sizing Guide for capacity planning, and consult the Cone Bottom Tank Stand Compatibility Matrix to match the right stand. Full dimensions and outlet detail are on the technical drawing on this page. For top-side plumbing, the Tank Top Fitting Placement Strategy guide walks through vent, fill, and level layout, and the Tank Level Gauge Selection guide covers measurement options for chemical service.

Chemical compatibility

This tank is molded from high-density linear polyethylene and carries a 1.9 specific gravity rating, which is what lets it hold dense chemicals at full volume. One caution: our resin record reads "HDLPE?" - before you put this tank into chemical service, confirm whether your specific unit is HDLPE versus XLPE (cross-linked) polyethylene, because the two resins differ in chemical resistance for some reagents. Always match wetted fitting and gasket materials to the chemical, and verify against the OEM chemical-resistance chart at your exact concentration and operating temperature. Watch the wetted-material exceptions in particular: DEF and peracetic acid call for 316SS fittings (not PVC); peracetic acid needs Aflas gaskets; and hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, hydrofluosilicic acid, hydrogen peroxide, phosphoric acid, sodium hypochlorite, and sulfuric acid call for Viton gaskets.

Chemicals compatible with this resin and 1.9 SG rating, with the recommended fitting and gasket materials, include: Acetic Acid (60%, PP/PVC fittings, EPDM gaskets); Aluminum Sulfate (50%, PVC, EPDM); Calcium Chloride (40%, PVC, EPDM); DEF (32.5%, 316SS, EPDM); Ethylene Glycol (100%, PVC, EPDM); Ferric Chloride (50%, PVC, EPDM); Ferric Sulfate (60%, PVC, EPDM); Ferrous Sulfate (20%, PVC, EPDM); Hydrochloric Acid (37%, PVC, Viton); Hydrofluoric Acid (48%, PP/PVC, Viton); Hydrofluosilicic Acid (26%, PP/PVC, Viton); Hydrogen Peroxide (50%, PVC, Viton); Magnesium Chloride (30%, PVC, EPDM); Peracetic Acid (30%, 316SS, Aflas); Phosphoric Acid (85%, PVC, Viton); Polyaluminum Chloride (PVC, EPDM); Potassium Carbonate (50%, PVC, EPDM); Potassium Hydroxide (saturated, PVC, EPDM); Propylene Glycol (PP/316SS, EPDM); Sodium Bisulfate (PVC/PP, EPDM); Sodium Bisulfite (PVC/PP, EPDM); Sodium Carbonate (30%, PVC, EPDM); Sodium Hypochlorite (under 16.5%, PVC, Viton); Sodium Thiosulfate (40%, PVC, EPDM); Sulfuric Acid (98%, CPVC, Viton); Urea Solution (50%, PP/PVC, EPDM); Zinc Orthophosphate (PP/316SS, EPDM); and Ozonated Water (up to 10 PPM, PVC, EPDM). Verify each chemical at your concentration and temperature against the OEM chemical-resistance chart, and browse the full Chemical Compatibility Database for details.

The mistake to avoid

The single most common error on a tank this size is plumbing it with the wrong wetted materials. The recommended fitting and gasket vary by chemical: sodium hypochlorite and the strong acids call for Viton gaskets, peracetic acid needs Aflas, and DEF and peracetic acid require 316 stainless fittings rather than PVC. Drop a standard EPDM or PVC fitting into one of those services and a tank that is otherwise rated for the job ends up leaking at the bulkhead. The second mistake is treating sodium hypochlorite (bleach) as a high-concentration chemical: it is only listed compatible under 16.5%, so confirm your delivered strength. And again, confirm HDLPE versus XLPE resin before committing this unit to any aggressive chemical. Once installed, label and placard the tank correctly - see the tank label and signage compliance guide.
