A 150 gallon white applicator saddle tank for a tractor or a sprayer frame
The Norwesco 150 gallon plastic applicator saddle tank in white, part number 40648, is a polyethylene tank 58 inches long, 30 inches wide and 33 inches tall, weighing 50 lb empty. A saddle tank is shaped to mount on the side of a tractor or on a sprayer frame, usually one on each side, so that the liquid rides with the machine to the field instead of in a trailer behind it. On a tractor, a sprayer or a frame
The tank is 58 inches long, 30 inches wide and 33 inches tall, so measure the space between the front axle and the step, or along the sprayer frame, before you order. Full of water each tank is close to 1251 lb, and a pair is twice that, carried high on the side of the machine; the tractor's front axle rating and the mounting brackets have to be sized for the full weight, not the empty tank. No brackets or straps come with the tank. The saddle shape gives the mounting hardware a surface to bear on, and the hardware itself comes from the tractor or sprayer maker or your fabricator; tell us the machine and we will help you find the right kit. Support the tank continuously along the saddle, restrain it in every direction the machine can move, and keep the straps off the lid. What goes in it
Liquid fertilizer, herbicide and pesticide mixes and water are the normal loads, and polyethylene handles all of them. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 1-1/4 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed. A 1-1/4 inch valve, hose barb or pump suction adapter threads straight into it. Support the valve and the first length of hose on the frame so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware and vibration.
- Lid. An 8 inch threaded vented lid on top, wide enough for a fill hose or to pour in a jug of concentrate. The vent lets the tank breathe as the pump draws it down; never plug it.
