The Norwesco 200 gallon plastic applicator saddle tank in white, part number 40780, is a polyethylene tank 48 inches long, 31 inches wide and 46 inches tall, weighing 67 lb empty. Saddle tanks are built narrow and tall so a pair can hang either side of a tractor or ride on an applicator frame without pushing the width out past the tires. On the machine
A saddle tank is carried by a bracket or a frame; it does not stand on its own in the field. Mount it from the Norwesco drawing linked on this page under Technical Drawing, which gives the shell profile and the fitting positions, and strap through the moulded recesses rather than over the lid. Each of these tanks full of water puts 1668 lb of liquid plus its own 67 lb on the machine, and a pair doubles that before the fertilizer is in, so balance them left and right and keep the running weight inside the manufacturer's load figures for the tractor. What goes in it
Liquid fertilizer, water and the crop chemicals that polyethylene handles. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 1.25 inch fitting, supplied with a 1.25 inch reducer. Tell us the hose size on your pump when you order and we will confirm which end of the pair you need.
- Lid. An 8 inch lid on top: fill from a hose or a nurse tank line, and rinse through it, since the opening is too small for a hand and a brush.
