The Norwesco 1505 gallon black heavy duty vertical storage tank, part number 44261B, is a rotomolded polyethylene tank 60 inches in diameter and 135 inches tall, weighing 340 lb empty. It stands eleven feet three on a base exactly five feet across, which is how it puts 1505 gallons into a space most tanks this size cannot use. The wall is Norwesco's heavy duty grade, rated for liquids up to 1.9 specific gravity, which takes in water, every common liquid fertilizer and most of the chemical solutions polyethylene handles; 1505 gallons of water weighs 12552 lb, and at the full 1.9 rating the contents can reach 23848 lb. It comes with a 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting as the outlet and a 16 inch threaded vented manway on top. Where it goes and what it holds
Buy this tank for a chemical or fertilizer feed where floor space is scarce: a greenhouse fertigation tank against the end wall, a treatment chemical day tank in a block building, a wash or brine tank in the corner of a shop. The heavy duty wall carries liquids denser than water, and black keeps light off contents that degrade in sunlight. For plain water the standard wall tank in the same mould costs less. Plan around the height: the manway sits at the top of 135 inches, so filling, float valve service and cleaning need a ladder or a platform, and the pad needs clear sky above it. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the wall. Your valve, camlock or pump suction threads straight in. On a tank this tall the head at the outlet is higher than on a squat tank of the same volume, so support the valve and the first length of pipe on their own within a foot of the wall and put a flexible connector before the first rigid joint.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top: fill from a hose, drop a float or a level sensor in, and get a hand and a brush inside to clean. Leave the vent clear so air can move as the level changes.
- Extra ports. Only the one outlet comes installed. A recirculation return, a second draw or an overflow means extra bulkhead fittings; tell us when you order and we quote them with the tank.
