Norwesco 1250 Gallon Black Heavy Duty Vertical Storage Tank

Standard or heavy duty

Full of water this tank holds 10425 lb of liquid. Full of a liquid at the 1.9 rating limit it holds about 19810 lb, nearly twice as much, and every pound of that pushes outward on the lower sidewall. The heavy duty tank has the wall for it; the standard 1.5 version does not. Buy this build when the liquid is heavier than water, when the tank will cycle full and empty often, or when the 5 year warranty is worth the extra weight to you. If the only load is water, the standard version listed below does the job for less. Whichever you choose, check anything other than water against polyethylene before the first fill.

Where it goes

A 60 inch footprint and 114 inches of height make this a tank for a pump house, a chemical room, a fertilizer plant yard or a line of tanks against a wall. The manway sits nine and a half feet up, so plan a platform or a ladder for filling and inspection. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the sidewall. A 2 inch valve, camlock or adapter threads straight in. Dry-fit, point it at the pipe run, tighten, and support the first length of pipe on its own.
2. Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top for filling, a float switch and cleaning. Keep the vent clear so the tank can breathe.
3. Liquid and temperature. At or below 1.9 specific gravity and at or below 120 F.
