Where it goes
Rainwater and well water storage at a house or a ranch, a fire protection reserve on a rural site, process and wash water at a shop, and fertilizer or chemical storage where 64 inches of floor space is all there is are the usual jobs. A tall, narrow tank like this uses height instead of pad area, so measure the clearance: 152 inches to the top of the manway, plus room to open it. The tank sits on a flat, continuous, level pad that supports the whole bottom, with no gravel points or edges under the floor; a poured concrete pad a few inches larger than the tank all round is the usual answer, and your installer sizes it. What goes in it
Water is the normal load, and black is the colour for water that sits. The 1.5 rating means a liquid up to 1.5 times the weight of water, which also covers most liquid fertilizers and many common chemicals; check anything other than water in our chemical compatibility guide before the first fill. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the side wall. Your valve threads straight into it; support the valve and the first length of pipe on their own so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware, and allow for the wall moving slightly as the tank fills.
- Inlet. None from the factory. Fill through the manway, or add a bulkhead fitting high on the wall for a plumbed fill; dry-fit it before tightening.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top, wide enough to fill from a hose, drop a float or a suction line in, and get a hand and a brush inside to clean.
