The Norwesco 20000 gallon blue heavy duty vertical tank, part number 43827, is a high density linear polyethylene storage tank 165 inches in diameter and 242 inches tall, weighing 5015 lb empty. Where this tank goes
A bulk terminal, a fertilizer plant, a municipal treatment works, a mine or a processor that would rather take one transport load into one tank than split it across three. The specific gravity rating is the one number that decides between this tank and the standard versions linked below: check the liquid's density at its working concentration and temperature, and if it is over 1.5 you are on this page for a reason. Openings, fittings and what to check before you buy
- Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the sidewall. On a tank this tall the head at the outlet is high; the valve and the first length of pipe need their own support and a rating to match, and an expansion joint between the tank and rigid pipe is normal practice because polyethylene moves as it fills.
- Manway. A 22 inch threaded vented manway on top. At 242 inches up it needs a fixed ladder or platform; plan that with the pad. The vent must stay clear; a tank this size pulls hard when it drains.
