Norwesco 2650 Gallon Black Elliptical Leg Tank

On a nurse trailer, a flatbed or a pad

This is a tank for moving a full day's fertilizer or water in one trip. Full of water it weighs over eleven tons before the trailer, so the running gear and the hitch rating, not the tank, decide whether it can travel; Norwesco's heavy duty version is the one for liquids above 1.5 specific gravity. Strap it through the moulded leg recesses with the bands Norwesco makes for the tank, listed in the add-ons box on this page, and never over the manway. On the ground it needs a flat, continuous surface under every leg; a tank this long on an uneven pad carries its weight on a few legs instead of all of them. What goes in it

Water, liquid fertilizer and the common farm and treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles are the normal loads. Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting with a 2 inch reducer, so you can run 3 inch hose for fast transfer or 2 inch hose off the reducer. The siphon tube draws from the bottom of the tank through the fitting, which is how a leg tank empties nearly dry without the outlet sitting below the legs.
2. Manway. A 22 inch hinged manway that locks: large enough to fill from a pump or a hose, to reach inside to clean, and to padlock against tampering when the trailer sits in a field overnight.
