Where the heavy duty rating earns its keep
Standard leg tanks are rated to 1.5 specific gravity. Many liquid fertilizers and most concentrated treatment chemicals sit above that, and a standard tank carrying them is outside its rating from the first fill. The 1.9 rating covers them with margin. The elliptical shape keeps the load low and wide on a nurse trailer or a flatbed, where a round tank this size would ride tall. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 3 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting with a 2 inch reducer: run 3 inch hose for fast transfer or 2 inch off the reducer. The siphon tube draws from the low point of the tank through the fitting so the tank empties nearly dry.
