The Norwesco 425 gallon pick up truck tank in black, part number 42026, is a polyethylene tank 65 inches in diameter and 39 inches tall, weighing 97 lb empty. In the bed
At 65 inches across it fits between the wheel wells of a full size bed with the tailgate closed, and at 39 inches tall it sits below the cab roof. Measure the bed between the wells before you order. The payload is the real limit: full of water the load is about 3540 lb plus the 97 lb tank, more with fertilizer or brine, and that is beyond most half ton trucks and a serious load for a three quarter ton. Strap it through the moulded recesses, never over the lid, and keep it as far forward as the bed allows. Openings and fittings
- Fitting and siphon. A 2 inch fitting with a 2 inch siphon tube. The tube reaches the low point of the tank so a pump can draw it down without a fitting through the bottom. Your pump suction connects to the fitting; size the pump and hose to 2 inches and keep the suction run short so the pump primes.
- Lid. An 8 inch lid on top: fill from a hose or a standpipe and rinse through it. It is too small for a hand and a brush, so plan on flushing.
