A saddle tank is carried by a bracket or a frame; it does not stand on its own in the field. Mount it from the Norwesco drawing linked on this page under Technical Drawing, which gives the shell profile and the outlet position, and strap through the moulded recesses rather than over the lid. What goes in it

Liquid fertilizer, water and the crop chemicals that polyethylene handles. Check the product against our chemical compatibility guide before the first fill; the entries applicator tank buyers ask about most are urea solution, calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, phosphoric acid and ferrous sulfate. Liquids heavier than 1.5 times water need a heavy duty tank, and nothing hotter than 120 F should go in.

Openings and fittings

1. Outlet. 1.25 inch. Norwesco's listing gives the size and not the fitting type, so if the connection matters to your pump, call before you order and we will confirm what the tank arrives with. Support the valve and the first length of hose so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
2. Lid. An 8 inch lid on top: fill from a hose or a nurse line and rinse through it. It is too small for a hand and a brush, so cleaning is by flushing.
