Where it goes

A 525 gallon sphere is a water store: a rainwater or well water buffer, a reserve for a cabin, a greenhouse or a stock trough, or a small fire reserve next to a pump. Tell us whether it is going on a pad or in the ground before you order and we confirm Norwesco's installation guidance for this tank; the rules for a buried tank are different from a pad, and your installer follows Norwesco's instructions, not this page. What goes in it

Water, first and mostly. Polyethylene also handles most fertilizers and many common chemicals within the 1.5 rating, but a round tank with one lid on top is set up for storage rather than dosing. Liquids heavier than 1.5 times water are outside the rating. Openings and fittings

1. Lid. 16 inches on top: wide enough to fill from a hose, lower a small submersible pump and a float, and get a hand and a brush inside.
2. Inlet and outlet. Norwesco's data for this tank lists no fitting. Tell us where the pipe comes in and goes out and we confirm what the tank ships with and what bulkhead fittings you add. Dry-fit each fitting, point it where the pipe runs, then tighten by hand plus a quarter turn; a sphere has less flat wall than a vertical tank, so the fitting position matters more.

At the tailgate, check the part number against 44878 on the bill of lading, look at the shell and the lid rim for transit damage, and fill it with water the first time before it carries anything else.
