The Snyder Industries 10,000 Gallon HDLPE Captor Double Wall Liquid Storage Tank is a tank-within-a-tank built for liquids you cannot afford to lose to the ground. The inner tank holds 10,000 gallons; the integral outer wall is the secondary containment, so a single 142 x 142 inch footprint gives you the primary vessel and the catch basin that SPCC and many state spill rules call for. It stands 226 inches tall, carries full water weight of 83,400 lb, and is molded from white High Density Linear Polyethylene with a 1.9 specific gravity rating - which is what lets this Captor double wall storage tank carry heavier-than-water liquids without overstressing the wall. It ships LTL from the Snyder plant in Lincoln, NE, so out-of-region buyers can pre-qualify the lane before they ever call.

Will it work for your site?

Run the numbers before you pour a pad. Filled with plain water this tank carries 83,400 lb; loaded to its maximum rated contents weight it reaches 158,460 lb - so your 142 x 142 inch pad, anchoring, and crane plan all have to be sized to that 158,460 lb loaded figure, not the empty shell or the water number. The 1.9 SG rating is the ceiling: it means this Captor carries liquids up to about 1.9 times water density, the genuine heavier-than-water envelope versus a standard 1.0 or 1.5 SG water tank, so multiply your liquid's specific gravity by 83,400 and confirm it stays inside the rated weight before you commit. The drawing shows three discrete fittings - a flange, an 18-inch PE threaded/vented fitting, and a manway with 15-inch access - and each maps to a job: run the flange to your fill or outlet (confirm flange gasket and bolt pattern at order), keep the 18-inch threaded/vented fitting clear as the breathing and vent path, and use the 15-inch-access manway for interior inspection and cleanout. See the technical drawing on this page and confirm those line up with your plan. For converting tank height into usable gallons and freeboard, our Tank Sizing Calculator and Tank Sizing Guide walk through it, and the Captor freeboard sizing guide covers the thermal-expansion and density math that decides the real volume you can actually use.

The mistake to avoid

The double wall is the whole point - don't treat it like a single wall storage tank. The outer wall only earns its keep if you size and monitor the interstitial space correctly and keep that vented fitting clear so the inner tank can breathe as it fills and empties. Just as important: the 1.9 SG rating is a structural limit, not a chemical clearance. A tank rated for density does not automatically mean your specific liquid is compatible with linear polyethylene at your concentration and temperature, so verify your chemistry against the resin before filling. If you are putting this tank into a regulated containment role, the SPCC 40 CFR 112 compliance walkthrough shows how the Captor double wall configuration maps to the rule, and the wall-thickness-at-the-headspace guide explains why failures start in the vapor space your liquid-side inspections never see.
