Low rooms, truck beds and pipe racks

A pump house, a basement mechanical space, a wash bay under a mezzanine, a nursery bench feed, a mix tank under a loading conveyor, a skid or truck build where 1,100 gallons has to ride under a height limit: this is the tank for the room with a joist instead of a roof. At 55 inches the manway opens from the ground, and the heavy duty rating lets the tank hold a dense liquid rather than only water. The price is floor: an 86 inch circle will not tuck into a corner, so walk the route from the dock to the pad with a tape before you order.

What to check before you buy

1. The pad. A rotomoulded tank bears on its whole floor, so 9,174 lb of water, or 17,431 lb at the rating, spreads across the full 86 inch circle, and a wide floor finds a low corner a narrow one would bridge. Pour to our concrete pad sizing guide, level and in full contact.
2. Restraint. At 180 lb empty this is the lightest tank in its capacity range and an empty one crosses a slab in a gust. Band it the day it lands.
3. The outlet. The 18 inch threaded vented manway is the only opening carried on this page. Tell us the liquid and the draw-off you want and we will confirm the bottom fitting, its size, gasket and material before anything is drilled. Snyder's drawing is linked under Technical Drawing.
4. Vent. The manway vent is the whole breathing path, and at 55 inches it sits where wash-down spray, dust and snow reach it. Size it to the delivery pump and inspect the screen with the bands.
5. Fill. Through a dip tube to the floor; a wide free surface foams when splash-filled. Black hides the level, so plan a sender.

A shell this short gives little suction head, so a transfer pump goes below the outlet with a low-level float. The first valve stands on its own support with a flexible connector to hard pipe.

The tank ships LTL at freight class 400 from the nearest of Snyder's Chowchilla, CA, Lincoln, NE and Philippi, WV plants, 86 by 86 by 55 inches at 180 lb.
