Chemicals that need a higher-SG tank

Several common chemicals exceed the 1.5 SG rating of this tank and require a 1.9 specific-gravity tank instead — do not store them in this unit. Those include Ethylene Glycol, Ferric Chloride, Ferric Sulfate, Hydrochloric Acid, Hydrofluoric Acid, Hydrofluosilicic Acid, Hydrogen Peroxide, Peracetic Acid, Phosphoric Acid, Polyaluminum Chloride, Potassium Carbonate, Potassium Hydroxide, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Bisulfate, Sodium Bisulfite, Sodium Hypochlorite, Sodium Thiosulfate, Sulfuric Acid, and Zinc Orthophosphate. The single most common mistake on a 1.5 SG tank is loading it with a dense acid like sulfuric or a peroxide that demands 1.9 SG and Viton or Aflas elastomers — match the rating before you fill. Fitting and elastomer selection

Fitting and gasket choice is as important as the tank rating.
