Suction line, strainer and low level protection

• The pump path: the outlet field reads "1 Manway / Lid", an opening and not a pipe size, and this sheet publishes no inlet, no thread, no flange and no valve. Nothing beyond that is claimed. The working arrangement with one top opening is a suction line and strainer dropped through the manway to a pump on the ground beside the tank; tell us the duty, the flow and the line size and we will confirm what this part number carries before the pipe is run.
• Suction: keep the line short and generously sized and keep it full. A pump drawing from a wide, low tank has an easier time than one on a tall column, which is a quiet advantage of this shape and worth not spoiling with a long horizontal run.
• Prime: where the pump must stand above the working level, fit a real priming arrangement rather than trusting a foot valve to hold between shifts.
