The Snyder Industries 2000 Gallon ASTM XLPE Vertical Storage Tank (SKU 5050300N40) is a crosslinked linear polyethylene (XLPE) vertical storage tank built to ASTM standards and rated to a 1.5 specific gravity. It holds 2,000 gallons in natural white resin and stands 84 inches tall on a 96-inch diameter base, so the 96 x 96 inch footprint and 84-inch height give you the clearances you need for pad and doorway planning up front. The 1.5 SG rating is the headline spec here: this wall is engineered to carry contents heavier than plain water, which is exactly what most water-treatment chemistries demand by weight.

Will it work for your site?

Full of water, this vertical storage tank carries about 16,680 pounds of contents; at its maximum rated 1.5 specific gravity it is engineered to hold up to 25,020 pounds. That load lands on a 96.0 x 96.0 inch footprint, so size the pad for the real density of what you store, not just for water - our concrete pad sizing guide walks through the ACI 360R-10 framework for above-ground polyethylene tanks. Not sure 2,000 gallons matches your draw-and-refill cycle? Run it through our Tank Sizing Calculator and Tank Sizing Guide before you commit.

Fittings and access

Per the technical drawing on this page, the tank comes with a flange fitting, an 18-inch PE threaded/vented fitting, and a manway with 15-inch access. Plumb your inlet and outlet connections at the flange and threaded ports; the 15-inch manway is your entry point for interior inspection and cleaning, so plan valve and bulkhead hardware around the flange and threaded fittings rather than the manway. One critical detail on the 18-inch vented fitting: it is the atmospheric vent, and it must stay open during fill and draw. Cap or block it and the tank can collapse under vacuum on drawdown or balloon on fill - keep that vent clear.

The mistake to avoid

The most common error on a 2,000-gallon XLPE vertical is treating the crosslinked wall like a standard linear-polyethylene tank and sizing the pad and anchoring for water weight alone. The 1.5 SG rating means this tank can legitimately carry up to 25,020 pounds - your pad, anchoring, and fittings need to be specified for the actual density of your contents. And because SG is a density rating, not a chemical-compatibility rating, confirm the specific chemistry against the OEM resistance data before you fill; density coverage and chemical coverage are two different checks. If you are weighing this Snyder tank against other 2000 gallon vertical storage tanks, our Snyder vs Norwesco vs Chem-Tainer 2000 gallon comparison lays out the differences, and for fire-protection or reserve-water duty the fire-water reservoir design guide covers NFPA 22 sizing and freeze protection for cold-climate service.

This is a large vertical tank, so it moves by LTL freight, shipping from the Snyder plant in Chowchilla, California with freight quoted live to your ZIP - buyers in the West typically see the shortest transit and lowest rate.
