A low tank for a low room

At 88 inches tall this is a 2,000 gallon tank that goes under a low ceiling: a little over seven feet of clear height, plus room above the manway for a fill line and a vent, on a 90 inch circle. Measure to the lowest joist, not the ceiling, and measure the doorway. Crosslinking ties the polymer chains of the wall together, which gives it more resistance to stress cracking and to many chemicals than a standard linear polyethylene wall, so this is the material to choose when the liquid is harder on plastic than water is, even at the standard 1.5 rating. A rotationally moulded tank carries its load on the whole floor, so up to 25,020 lb bears on the full 90 inch circle. Pour the slab to our concrete pad sizing guide, level and in full contact, with a berm where the liquid is regulated. What to check before you buy

1. The liquid. Polyethylene suits water, most liquid fertilizers and many common chemicals, and the crosslinked wall widens that list. The 1.5 rating covers liquids up to one and a half times the weight of water. If yours is heavier, or warmer than 140 F in service, tell us; Snyder makes this same shell in a heavy duty wall.
2. The outlet. This page lists the manway, not a bottom fitting. Tell us the liquid and the draw-off you want and we will confirm what this tank takes, in what size and material, before anything is drilled.
3. The manway. 18 inch threaded and vented, 88 inches off the pad. A tied-off platform ladder reaches it; a fixed platform is better if anyone opens it weekly. Bring the fill line to the manway.

The tank ships LTL at freight class 400, 90 by 90 by 88 inches on a skid, 400 lb, from Snyder's plant at Marked Tree, Arkansas. The listed price is before freight; the freight cost estimator gives the lane cost to your ZIP. Unload with a forklift and straps under the body, never a sling through the manway. At the tailgate, check the part number against 8130000N40 on the bill of lading and walk round the base for transit damage. Fill it with water the first time, let it stand, and look at the pad edge and the base fitting before the working liquid goes in.
