What it suits

This is a low, wide 2500 gallon tank. At 98 inches tall the manway is easy to reach from a short ladder, the tank sits under many shed roofs and canopies, and the wide base is steady on an open site. Black keeps sunlight out of stored water, which stops algae, so it is a good outdoor tank for a home or cabin supply on hauled water, a livestock reserve, an orchard or garden supply, wash water for equipment, or rainwater collected off a barn. Liquid fertilizer held between applications suits it as well. A liquid heavier than 1.5 times water belongs in the heavy duty version of this shell, which we also list. A full tank of water puts 20,850 lb on a 96 inch circle. Before you buy: openings and fittings

1. The manway. One 18 inch threaded vented manway on top. It is the fill opening, the cleaning access and the vent. Keep the vent clear so the tank breathes.
2. The outlet. No outlet or fitting is listed with this part number. Tell us the line size and whether a pump or gravity draws from it, and we will confirm with Snyder what the tank comes with.
3. Head pressure. A tank this short gives modest pressure by gravity alone. If the water must travel far or uphill, plan a pump.

The tank ships LTL at freight class 400 from Snyder's Chowchilla, California plant, listed at 96 by 96 by 98 inches and 510 lb. Lift it from the base with straps, never by the manway, and strap it down if it will stand empty in the wind. Fill it with water first and look at the base and manway before you depend on it.
