Half a foot wider, nine inches lower
The difference between this tank and its 90 inch siblings is the roof line: a 98 inch tank opens its manway under an eight and a half foot ceiling where a 107 inch tank does not, and the wider base gives it a lower center of gravity and less strapping for the same volume. Access and outlet
- Outlet: 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, at the base; a flexible connector between the bulkhead and hard pipe, the valve supported off the pad, and a flanged transition on a chemical.
- Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway, 98 inches up, reached from a step; filled by hose, tote pump or truck through a dip tube, vented outside on anything that fumes, and the vent sized for the delivery pump.
- Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.
Eight feet of liquid above the outlet is a flooded suction to the last few inches; a pump mounted below the outlet primes by gravity, and a float at low level protects it from running dry. Keep the manway closed against vapor loss, and keep the tank out of direct sun where the liquid is light-sensitive. Where it freezes, insulate or drain the outlet valve and the first length of pipe; the body takes ice from the top down without harm.
