The Snyder 5090000C34 is a black polyethylene vertical storage tank, 90 inches across and 107 inches tall, holding 2,500 gallons at 450 pounds. It is the standard tall 2,500 in black, molded in Lincoln, Nebraska and Philippi, West Virginia for the Plains and the East: half a tanker on a seven and a half foot circle, the 18 inch threaded, vented manway at nine feet reached from a step, in a wall that keeps light off the load. Its wall is rated for a specific gravity of 1.9, or 39,615 pounds of contents against 20,850 for water, for concentrated acid, ferric and the heavy brines at strength. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead outlet, a 3 year warranty, and freight at class 400.

Half a tanker of dense chemical, dark
A 1.9 wall is sized for a liquid nearly twice as dense as water, and 2,500 gallons of it is the delivery a small plant takes when a full tanker would sit too long; a black wall keeps the sun off a chemical that loses strength in light. Full at the rating it puts 39,615 pounds on a 90 inch circle: an engineered slab in full contact per the concrete pad sizing guide, inside a berm sized to the tank, with the empty tank strapped against wind before the first fill. The C37-BLACK is the other black tank in this shell and the C26 the white one, each rated as its own sheet says; the N33 is the lighter wall for water and liquids that do not need this one. Where the pipe and the vent go
- Outlet: 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, at the base; tell us the liquid when ordering and the fitting is matched to it, with a flanged transition, a flexible connector to hard pipe, and the valve supported off the pad in the material the chemical calls for.
- Access: 18 inch threaded, vented manway, 107 inches up, reached from a step; fill through a dip tube, vent outside on acid and caustic service, and size the vent for the delivery pump.
- Service limit: 120 F / 48 C.
Nine feet of liquid above the outlet is a flooded suction to the last few inches; set the pump below the outlet so gravity primes it, with a low-level float to stop it before it draws air. Keep the manway closed against vapor loss, label the tank so the fire inspector and the workplace inspector read the same thing, and inspect the headspace wall from the manway with a light. In a freezing climate the outlet valve and the first run of pipe get heat trace or insulation; the tank body itself can ice from the top down and come to no harm.
