The Snyder Industries 30 Gallon Plastic Horizontal Leg Tank in White is a compact polyethylene horizontal leg tank built for mobile transport on a sprayer skid, pickup bed, or applicator trailer. The integrated saddle legs hold it level on a 23.0 x 23.0-inch footprint, and at 26 inches tall by 23 wide by 23 long it slots into tight equipment frames where a vertical or loaf tank will not. Molded from polyethylene with a 1.5 specific gravity rating, this 30-gallon horizontal Snyder tank handles water and a defined range of agricultural and process fluids up to that density limit, including DEF and urea blends at the concentrations listed below.

Will it work for your job

Spec this tank by weight, not just volume. Full of water it carries about 250 lb, and its maximum rated contents weight is 375 lb. That ceiling is exactly a full 30 gallons at the 1.5 SG rating: 30 gal x 8.34 lb/gal x 1.5 = 375 lb, which means you can fill it completely at its rated density with no volume derate. For any denser fluid, run 30 x 8.34 x your fluid's specific gravity and stay under 375 lb. To match this tank to a tote, route, or fleet of leg tanks, run the numbers through our Tank Sizing Calculator and review the Tank Sizing Guide before you commit. Note that fittings are not part of a fixed factory package here - bulkheads and outlets are specified per application (PP, PVC, CPVC, or 316SS per the compatibility table below) and quoted separately, so do not assume a bung or outlet is included.

Chemical compatibility

This is a polyethylene tank with a 1.5 specific gravity rating. The resin is recorded internally as HDLPE pending confirmation, so before chemical service confirm with us whether your unit is HDLPE or XLPE - call 866-418-1777 - because that distinction drives stress-crack and chemical resistance. Within the 1.5 SG limit, this tank is rated for the following at the concentrations shown, with the correct wetted fitting and gasket materials for each: Acetic Acid at 60% (PP/PVC fittings, EPDM gasket, details); Aluminum Sulfate at 50% (PVC, EPDM, details); Calcium Chloride at 40% (PVC, EPDM, details); DEF at 32.5% (316SS fittings, EPDM gasket, details); Ferrous Sulfate at 20% (PVC, EPDM, details); Magnesium Chloride at 30% (PVC, EPDM, details); Sodium Carbonate at 30% (PVC, EPDM, details); Urea Solution at 50% (PP/PVC, EPDM, details); and Ozonated Water up to 10 PPM (PVC, EPDM). For diesel exhaust fluid and urea blends, the 316SS or PP/PVC fitting callouts with EPDM gaskets keep the wetted materials correct. Always verify against the OEM chemical-resistance chart for your exact concentration and temperature, since compatibility is concentration- and temperature-specific. The full chemical compatibility resource carries the cross-references.

Chemicals that need the 1.9 SG tank instead

Several fluids are too dense for a 1.5 SG tank and require a 1.9 specific gravity horizontal leg tank - do not run these in this unit. Grouped by what you are likely shipping: glycols (Ethylene Glycol, Propylene Glycol); carbonates and hydroxides (Potassium Carbonate, Potassium Hydroxide, Sodium Carbonate at higher load, Sodium Bisulfate, Sodium Bisulfite, Sodium Thiosulfate); iron salts (Ferric Chloride, Ferric Sulfate); and strong acids and oxidizers that also need Viton or Aflas seals rather than EPDM (Hydrochloric Acid, Hydrofluoric Acid, Hydrofluosilicic Acid, Hydrogen Peroxide, Peracetic Acid, Phosphoric Acid, Sulfuric Acid, Sodium Hypochlorite), plus Polyaluminum Chloride and Zinc Orthophosphate. If your application is on this list, step up to the 30-gallon 1.9 SG horizontal leg tank with the Viton or Aflas seals called out for your chemical - call 866-418-1777 and we will point you to the right unit.

Freight and ordering

This horizontal leg tank ships LTL from the nearest Snyder Industries plant - Chowchilla, CA; Lincoln, NE; Marked Tree, AR; or Philippi, WV - with freight quoted live to your ZIP. Get an exact number from our Freight Cost Estimator, or call 866-418-1777 for help matching the right horizontal leg tank to your sprayer or applicator setup. If you are building a fertilizer or applicator fleet, our guides on applicator and leg tanks for fertilizer and fertilizer-blend tank stratification walk through DOT scope and mixing practice; for double-wall containment see Snyder Captor double-wall tanks and SPCC compliance.
