Always match concentration, temperature, fitting material, and gasket material to your exact chemical, and verify every job against the OEM chemical-resistance chart, which is concentration- and temperature-specific. The mistake to avoid
Do not assume the polyethylene shell covers your whole system. The 1.9 SG rating is for the tank itself, but the fittings and gaskets are the weak point, and the chart splits across three gasket tiers. EPDM handles most of the salts and glycols; Viton is required for the aggressive acids like Hydrochloric, Hydrofluoric, Hydrogen Peroxide, Phosphoric, Sodium Hypochlorite, and Sulfuric; and Peracetic Acid is the one chemical on the chart that needs Aflas, since both EPDM and Viton fail it. Watch the metal-fitting calls too: DEF and Peracetic Acid require 316 stainless, and Sulfuric Acid wants CPVC. Anywhere the chart specs 316SS, that means metal hardware, not plastic, so a buyer who orders a plastic bulkhead fitting for DEF or peracetic acid has built in a leak path. For DEF in particular, the 32.5% fluid will be contaminated by brass or standard steel, which is why dedicated 316SS hardware is non-negotiable. Spec your fittings and gaskets to the chemical, not just the tank, and never push concentration or temperature past what the OEM chart lists.
