The Snyder Industries 300 Gallon ASTM XLPE Heavy Duty Vertical Storage Tank is a natural white, crosslinked linear polyethylene (XLPE) tank built to ASTM D1998, the governing standard for upright polyethylene storage tanks. It carries 300 gallons in a compact 33-inch diameter footprint and stands 94 inches tall, so it holds real volume without eating floor space. The natural white walls are semi-translucent, allowing a rough fill-level check in good light, and the tank is rated to a specific gravity of 1.9, giving it real load headroom above plain water.

Will it work for your site?

Start with the numbers. Filled with water, this 300 gallon vertical storage tank weighs roughly 2,502 lb, and at its full 1.9 specific gravity rating it can carry up to 4,754 lb of contents. That 4,754 lb figure is the maximum-contents ceiling, not a green light to fill 300 gallons of a 1.9-SG fluid to the brim. ASTM D1998 tanks are sized around proper freeboard, so size your usable volume with headroom in mind; the Snyder freeboard sizing guide walks through the D1998 math and the real volume you can actually use. Plan your pad and anchoring around the loaded figure, not the empty shell. The 33.0 x 33.0 in footprint sizes the concrete pad; for thickness and reinforcement, see our concrete pad sizing framework. If you are still choosing a capacity, the Tank Sizing Calculator and Tank Sizing Guide help you match draw-down and refill to a vertical tank this size.

Fittings and sealing

Per the technical drawing on this page, this tank is configured with a flange, a 7" x 10" flat fitting, a 10" polyethylene threaded fill, a cap with a 7" access opening, and an additional flat fitting. Confirm the fitting layout against the drawing before you plumb, since fill, vent, and outlet placement drive how you tie the tank into your system. Flange and bulkhead-style fittings seal against a gasket, and gasket or O-ring material must be matched to your service fluid; confirm gasket compatibility for your specific chemistry before startup. This is XLPE, not standard HDPE; if you are weighing the two, our guide on when crosslinking matters lays out the tradeoffs, and you should always confirm both fluid and gasket compatibility before use.

The mistake to avoid

Do not undersize the foundation. Buyers see the empty tank weight and forget that a loaded 300 gallon XLPE vertical storage tank puts thousands of pounds on a small 33-inch circle. A level, properly sized pad is the difference between a tank that lasts and one that leans. If this tank feeds a rural fire-protection reservoir, the fire-water reservoir design guide covers NFPA 22 sizing and freeze protection for cold-climate service.
