When you need all three: cross-linked, black and 1.9

Each word in this part number's name buys something. Cross-linked polyethylene is a thermoset wall with a 140 F service limit, the higher of the two limits in this shell, and it is what Snyder puts against harder chemical duty. Black blocks sunlight, which protects a light-sensitive chemical and stops algae if the tank ever holds water, and it is the colour for an outdoor pad. The 1.9 rating covers liquids up to 1.9 times the weight of water, which takes in most acids, caustics and concentrated treatment chemicals. A plating line, a metal finishing shop, a yard chemical store in a hot region, or a plant dosing a warm caustic are the buyers who need all three; a plant storing a water-weight product indoors does not, and the lighter-rated or linear versions of the shell cost less. The pad and the headroom

Design the slab for 55,461 lb on a 102 inch circle, flat, continuous and level under the whole footprint; our concrete pad sizing guide for above ground polyethylene tanks gives the framework. The shell is a little over thirteen feet tall at 158 inches before the manway, so the fill point is a platform or a fixed line. Openings and what to confirm before you buy

1. Manway. An 18 inch threaded vented manway on top for filling, a level sensor, inspection and cleaning.
2. Outlet. Snyder lists no outlet fitting for this tank. On a contained tank the fitting passes through both walls, so tell us the draw-off position and size and we will confirm with Snyder what it ships with and what it takes to add one.
