Small, dark and chemical-ready

A 70 gallon tank is the size for a day supply: the tank a metering pump draws from at a vineyard or orchard injection point, a cooling tower or a small water system, refilled from bulk once a week or so. Cross-linked polyethylene is the wall Snyder offers for the tougher chemistries, and the 1.9 rating covers dense liquids such as brines and concentrated fertilizers. The 140 F limit applies to the liquid, and a black tank in a Central Valley summer gets warm, so give it shade where you can.

The footprint is a 23 inch circle, about the size of a drum, so it fits where a drum stands now. Because the wall is black you will not see the level through it; plan a sight tube, a float gauge or a dip stick. Strap it to a post, a wall or a rack, because at 30 lb empty and 42 inches tall it tips easily before it is filled.

1. Fittings. The outlet and lid on 1007200N48 are not listed on this page. Tell us the outlet size and the height you need it at, and we will confirm what comes on the tank.
