Where a double wall tank goes

A dosing tank in a water or wastewater plant, a chemical feed tank in a boiler room or cooling tower loop, a day tank at a pool or a food plant, a small bulk tank where the fire marshal or the state wants secondary containment and there is no room for a berm or a basin. The double wall gives the containment in the tank's own footprint, and a 24 by 24 inch square footprint is the smallest one you can fit against a wall or in a corner. At 43 inches tall the lid is at working height for a hose or a drum pump without a step. Polyethylene handles water, most fertilizers and many common chemicals; nothing heavier than 1.9 times water and nothing warmer than 120 F in this tank. What to check before you buy

1. The lid. An 8 inch threaded vented lid on the inner tank, enough for a fill hose, a suction lance and a level probe. The vent lets the tank breathe as a metering pump draws it down.
2. The outlet. Snyder's data for this part number does not list an outlet fitting, so tell us the suction and drain connection you want and we will confirm what the tank comes with before it ships. On a double wall tank the outlet usually comes through the top so the outer wall is never pierced; ask us how this one is plumbed.
3. Leak detection. Look into the gap between the walls on a schedule, or ask us about a sensor; a double wall only protects you if someone notices what it caught.
