The Norwesco 300 gallon 15 degree cone bottom tank, part number 41484, is a natural white polyethylene tank 36 inches in diameter and 82 inches tall, weighing 93 lb empty. It puts three hundred gallons on a three foot circle by going up, and the shallow 15 degree cone gives it a low point to drain from without adding much more height. This is a storage and dispensing tank rather than a mixing tank: it holds a product and lets you draw it off the bottom until the tank is empty and clean. Where a tall narrow 300 fits
This is the tank for a corner: a day tank beside a dosing pump, a holding tank in a treatment room, a gravity feed where floor space is short and ceiling height is not. The shallow cone means sediment and the last of the product leave through the valve instead of staying in a flat bottom. Before you buy it, measure the ceiling: the tank is 82 inches tall before the stand goes under it, and the lid on top will need a ladder or a fill line. It is not the shape for dissolving powders or holding a heavy suspension; those want the steeper inductor cones. What goes in it
Water, liquid fertilizer and the common farm and treatment chemicals are the normal loads. Check anything else in our chemical compatibility guide before the first fill; urea solution, calcium chloride, aluminum sulfate, sodium carbonate and acetic acid are the entries cone tank buyers open most. Openings, fittings and what to check before you buy
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting at the point of the cone. A ball valve threads straight in. Fit it before the first fill and support the valve and the first length of pipe so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- Lid. An 8 inch threaded vented lid. Enough for a fill hose, a float or a look inside, not for a bag of product or an arm. Fill from a hose or a pump.
- Height. Eighty-two inches of tank before the stand. Check the ceiling, the doorway and how the lid will be reached.
- The stand. Norwesco pairs this tank with stand N-41486. A 15 degree cone needs a 15 degree cradle of the right diameter; give us the part number of any stand you already own and we will tell you whether it fits. A full tank on a stand is a concentrated load of well over a ton with water in it, so the floor under it must be flat, level and continuous.
