The Norwesco 310 gallon vertical liquid storage tank, part number 43625, is a polyethylene tank 32 inches in diameter and 94 inches tall, weighing 82 lb empty. Where a 94 inch column belongs
This is a tank for a high bay, a treatment building with the services run along the wall, a food plant make-up corner beside a stairwell, or the end of a greenhouse range with a tall frame. Thirty-two inches of circle fits where a drum rack fitted. Measure the lowest pipe, duct or beam above the spot and add a hand's room for the manway before you order, and check the room has the swing to stand a 94 inch tank up after it comes through the door on its side. A column this slender must be banded to a wall, a rack or a frame before the first fill, with the band pulled tight again after the tank has been full once and settled; never let a rigid pipe be what holds it upright. The fill is a line brought down to working height. What goes in it
Water, liquid fertilizer and the common farm and treatment chemicals that polyethylene handles are the normal loads, kept under 120 F. Liquids heavier than 1.5 times water need a heavy duty tank rather than this one. Openings and fittings
- Outlet. A 2 inch polypropylene female NPT bulkhead fitting, factory installed low in the side wall. Your valve, camlock or hose adapter threads straight into it. Support the valve and the first length of pipe so the fitting carries liquid, not hardware.
- Manway. A 16 inch threaded vented manway on top, wide enough for a submersible pump and a float. At 94 inches up it is reached from a platform, not a step stool; plan the fill as a fixed line. The vent lets air in as the tank drains; never plug it.
